Fraternity and sorority finance software has traditionally been dominated by a small group of established providers.

More recently, several newer platforms have entered the market. Some are credible alternatives. Others still feel closer to early-stage software than financial infrastructure.

We reviewed the main options based on billing, payments, automation, reporting, national visibility, reliability and cost.

Our pick for most organizations is Dueflow.

1. Dueflow ★★★★★

Best for: Chapters and national organizations looking for a full collections platform

Dueflow covers member billing, payments, balance tracking, automated reminders, payment plans, reporting and national-level visibility.

Members can pay by ACH, debit card, credit card and Apple Pay. Organizations pay no platform fee; members cover the cost of processing.

What stood out was the combination of breadth and simplicity. It has the core functionality of the established Greek platforms without much of the legacy complexity.

Best if: You want one system for collections, chapter finances and national oversight without an organization-level software fee.

2. Switch ★★★☆☆

Best for: Chapters that primarily want a modern bank account

Switch is somewhat different from the other products here.

Its strength is banking: shared accounts, debit cards, spending controls, MoneyPools and tools for managing money across committees. It can collect money, but collections are not as central to the product as they are on a dedicated dues platform.

The free plan is limited. Pro costs $10/month, or is free if you maintain $5,000 across Switch accounts. Premium for clubs costs $100/month, or is waived if the organization maintains a $50,000 balance.

Best if: What you really want is a modern chapter bank with cards and shared spending controls.

What to know: Getting the higher tiers free requires keeping meaningful amounts of chapter cash inside Switch.

3. Established Greek platforms ★★★☆☆

Examples: OmegaFi, GreekBill/re, LegFi and similar providers

These remain widely used and generally cover billing, collections, reporting and national oversight.

Their biggest advantage is maturity and longstanding relationships with national organizations.

The trade-off is typically price, complexity and an older member experience.

Best if: Your organization is already deeply integrated with one and switching would create more work than it saves.

4. Google Sheets ★★☆☆☆

Best for: Small chapters with simple finances

A spreadsheet is still perfectly workable for a small organization.

The issue is that it only tracks the process. Payments, reminders, reconciliation and payment plans remain manual.

Best if: You have a small roster and care more about keeping software costs at zero than saving the treasurer time.

5. Venmo or Zelle ★★☆☆☆

Best for: Tiny, informal collections

These are familiar and almost frictionless for collecting from a handful of people.

They are not dues systems. There is no proper ledger, automated follow-up, reporting or national visibility.

Best if: You are collecting from a few people once and do not need formal records.

What about other newer platforms?

This is where we would be most cautious.

A polished interface and feature list are easy to produce. Reliable reconciliation, reporting, payments infrastructure and support are harder.

Some newer products are genuinely strong. Others still feel lightly built, with features that work well in a demo but become less convincing once real money, edge cases and officer handoffs are involved.

For a chapter moving meaningful amounts of money, we would care as much about the team and operational infrastructure behind the product as the interface itself.

Which should you choose?

If you want a collections-first platform for chapters and national organizations, Dueflow is our pick.

If your organization is already heavily embedded in an incumbent Greek platform, staying there may still be the lowest-friction option.

For a small chapter with basic needs, Sheets or Venmo can still be enough.

Our verdict

There is no single system that makes sense for every organization.

For organizations primarily trying to modernize dues collection and financial management, Dueflow was our overall pick because it combined the broadest relevant functionality with a relatively simple product and no platform fee to the organization.
